I’ve been a bit slack on the old crafty posts of late. It’s less a case of quiet hands and more a case of having enough energy to drag up three young monkeys and do some lovely making in front of the telly, but not quite enough to write about it. That combined with my perpetual inability to finish things before starting three others are perfectly reasonable excuses in my book.
Anyway as if anyone needed further proof that all things knitting and crochet are fantabulous, in pops an email from the brilliantly enthusiastic organisers of Unravel with a friendly request to spread the good word about a really exciting event that’s happening later on this month.
Unravel is a fun family event taking place in Dublin city centre on October 25th and 26th. It’s the first of a series of mini-festivals and events known as New In The Old City which are supported by Dublin City Council and will take place in Temple Bar’s Cow’s Lane. Unravel will offer a range of activities and workshops to the public including felting and knitting workshops and family knitting sessions. There is also an opportunity for the public to donate knit and crochet pieces for inclusion in an installation on Cow’s Lane. The area will be yarn-bombed with colourful displays. Anyone who wants to contribute is asked to drop/post their piece of knitting or crochet to The Gutter Bookshop, Cow’s Lane, Dublin 2.
Finally, as part of the event there are free knitting sessions offered at The Queen of Tarts on Cow’s Lane during the month of October.
More details are on this flyer and on the Event Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/NewintheOldCity
This all looks very cool so if you see three blonde kids and a reluctant bearded husband being dragged around by an enthusiastic Busy Mama, do say ‘Hi’!
