Beautiful sunshine and juggling work and kiddies while a hubbie travels is a crafting-disaster but this week I’ve been extremely productive simply because I had no choice!!

Ages ago I offered to do some pattern testing for Anneliese at The Aesthetic Nest who makes beautiful patterns for kids clothes.  I’ve printed out – and been meaning to try, a few of her freebie patterns for ages but – of course, hadn’t the time.  When she asked me to do the testing I only had two weeks to get my act together so there were no excuses!!

I made three tops for the little lady – and then shamelessly bribed her with jellies to try them on! Two are in jersey / knit fabrics I’ve been hoarding for ages and the lilac one is in fleece.  The pink tulip one has cool buttons down the back which I love.  Her favourite seems to be the pleated fleece one (typical on the hottest day of the year).  They are all super comfy and will be great in the Autumn and Winter.  She’s a long girl for 2y so I made them in size 3y – so they should last ages.

I felt bad I never got to make one for himself but they only ‘boy’ colours I had weren’t the right type of materials.  I’d say he’d love a few of the Classic Bateau Necked ones in fleece though as he’s a serious snuggler.

As well as trying the patterns out I got to try my new gizmos – a magnetic seam guider and a double needle, and they really made the job easier. Neat hems all the way!

So yes, job done and for once no zips or buttons remain unsewn.

Tonight its knitting and lemon drizzle cake with the Marino / Fairview Knitting and Crochet ladies!  Its well deserved!
