This is my first Christmas decoration post of the year. It’s more than a little late in the season but I forgot I’d been so shoddy as I’ve been moonlighting over at The Nest where I contributed my Felt Garland Tutorials from last year and also these cool Paper Baubles to Emily’s wonderful Craft Advent. Anyway, if you’re in the market for an easy decoration here’s a nice Christmas Stocking that I’ve been tipping away at.  This is my sixth Christmas as a Mama, and my sixth Christmas feeling uncharastically guilty about the stocking situation (yes, you read correctly) in this house….

As part of my recent yarn cull, I at last sorted out those straggling bits and pieces of wool that have been knocking about my stash.  Last year I had used up loads of odds and ends on the Roses and Daisies Blanket but plenty of left-overs have appeared in the meantime – not least because I have at last gotten around to ‘frogging’ at least two finished but hopelessly big items (mental note: never start a ‘fitted’ cardigan 6 weeks after giving birth and while you’re still in the ‘who cares if I stay this size forever’ zone). With Valentine’s just ahead I’m delighted to have gotten one marriage proposal to start the week off well.  Admittedly I won’t be marrying my 3 year old son any time soon, but it is nice to be asked!  There would normally be no chance of me doing any Valentine’s decorations but these really lovely felt Valentine’s garlands caught my eye a while back and will smartly double as decorations for around the hall for our Craft Circle on Wednesday! Inevitably whenever one of my kids gets something, the other wants exactly the same! As part of my recent fabric mega order I got a few rolls of pink tulle. The plan was to to make a tutu for my daughter and also our little friend Anna who turns one next week. I had to revisit my plans when my 3year-old went bonkers wanting to know where his pink tutu was!
