This weekend the RDS Simmonscourt hosts the annual Knitting and Stitching Show. It’s basically like a crack den of craft for those of us that are craftily inclined – equally addictive but slightly better for your overall health. Myself and my Mum, an avid knitter, novice knitter and button-a-holic have made this an annual pilgrimage over the last few years. Christ on a bike. It’s just dawned on me that next week is mid-term which means a return to my merry trio of small mad people with a week of no school for Spidey. It promises to be a madly busy one as, sharp intake of breath, we’ve put our house up for sale. Domestic bliss was interrupted about 6 months ago when my husband realised I’d colonised about half a wardrobe with wool.  After deftly avoiding any sort of explanation about the sizeable stash, I had to admit (just to myself you understand) that it had all gotten a bit out of hand.  I’d knocked out those few knitted toys earlier in the Summer in an attempt at stash-busting, but truth be told it was going to take an industrial scale clear out to make a difference! We’ve had a few pants weeks in our house so – excuses aside, there’s been little writing done.  Nursing a never-ending cold and a growing bump (let alone managing the two other large lumps) my energy has lagging so I reckoned its best to stay quiet that write a long winge! I have managed though to get my head around the fast approaching holidays and have (for once) started to work out a realistic plan for who is getting handmade stuff this year.  So far there’s a stack of nearly finished scarves for little ones, a baby blanket and two…
