As part of the changes to our community crafting group, I am organising specialised workshops led by teachers from inside, and outside, the group. Our first workshop takes place next Wednesday, 28th May and is a Professional Finishing course. It is aimed at knitters of an intermediate or advanced level who want to improve the quality of their finished items with better joins, seams and sewing.  I previously wrote a review of the course which I’d taken in Winnie’s Wool Shop and found it to be practical and really helpful. This is the last year that ours is a house of pre-schoolers.  For this year our challenge will be getting the wee man out to montessori for five days a week and we’ll leave it to next year to tackle big school. Herself, is a bit startled by this change and isn’t at all sure why her big brother is, for the first time really, doing stuff without her.  Doubtless, she’ll adapt quickly and have the run of the house, and her parents, on the mornings that he’s gone. So, I’ve had to make a little change to our fabulously successful Marino / Fairview Knitting and Crochet Circle. From this month (eh, this Wednesday), we’re meeting in St. Joseph’s Primary School, Fairview instead of the CY Hall on Phillipsburgh Avenue. It’s all very handy to find.  The school is just opposite Fairview Park and accessed via Marino Mart – just opposite the Post Office.  There’s plenty of off-street parking and..biscuits!
