It was a year of restrained gift giving. The house moves had taught us that we already have lots of stuff – much of which wasn’t missed when packed. Also the toddler has no actual interest in toys- unless it’s Lego that can be shoved between wonky floor boards or a pony that can be swung by her sparkling pink mane. In an attempt to maintain that restraint – while holding out hope that the child would develop an interest in something that isn’t his mother, Santa brought a shiny red workbench with tools. The initial interest was low. There…

Last year a friend posted a lovely invite on Facebook to become involved in a Craft Swap where – at some point that year, you’d send something handmade to any friend who volunteered to do the same to one of their friends, and so on.  I pushed my dates slightly into 2014 (usual excuses apply) but have at last gotten around to nearly finishing my treats for my three friends, and now to posting them. Apparently, it really was in my mind quite a sudden event though I am fairly sure I was alone in that.  In fairness to my parents this wasn’t one of those Daily Star ‘I Went to the Loo and Had a Baby’ stories.  Pretty…

So last year I did a little mix of handmade and shop bought cards.  Left to my own devices for a few hours last weekend (admittedly on Saturday night while the hubby watched rugby and talked all sorts of crap with his friends) I managed to make our entire little stack of greetings and they are by now winging their way to various loved ones. Here’s a peek at our hand stamped Christmas cards… Little stamped snowflakes and some stamped bobbles were the order of the day and they turned out great – if I do say so myself. I love…
