As part of the changes to our community crafting group, I am organising specialised workshops led by teachers from inside, and outside, the group.
Our first workshop takes place next Wednesday, 28th May and is a Professional Finishing course. It is aimed at knitters of an intermediate or advanced level who want to improve the quality of their finished items with better joins, seams and sewing. I previously wrote a review of the course which I’d taken in Winnie’s Wool Shop and found it to be practical and really helpful.
The workshop takes 2 to 2.5 hours and costs €25 per person. This will include refreshments and excessive amounts of homemade cake! Places are limited to a maximum of 8 people so bookings are on a first-come-first-served basis. There is homework in advance of the class – namely you will need a few prepared squares to work on. Details will be provided on booking.
For any interested crafters, here are the details:
Workshop Description: Learn how to put your project together and give it the professional finish which takes your knitting from “home”made to “handmade”. At this workshop you will learn ” how to block finished pieces ” order of work in making up a garment ” invisible seaming (mattress stitch for stocking stitch, garter stitch) with class notes supplied.
