So, we’re now in the single figures and the countdown to baby number 3’s arrival – or as my body tends to do it, sometime in the next 8 to 10 weeks, the snuggy unborn child will hear the words ‘cesarean section’ and decide it’s time to get out of bed before having the proverbial covers reefed off them. The ‘to do’ list for this little Bubba is slightly more basic than it was for the predecessors. Items like ‘snot sucker’, baby bath and rectal thermometer aren’t featured all having been variously discredited or binned over the years.  In addition…

6am knitting in Temple Street Late last year, I was doing my normal bits and pieces on a fairly average ‘mummy day’. Two kids in tow, it was the usual mix of bad singing (me) and shouted requests for Postman Pat from the back seat (them) as we headed to the supermarket. I expected to spend the next while trying to steer a trolley with one child in the seat and the other actually IN the trolley while trying to ram groceries in there.  But that day I didn’t get to rant about why Aldi really need to have more…

On a little break filled with sunshine, all the girls in our family had their birthdays. Two blonde birthday girls. My little girl declines to be mainstreamed into any age category and has announced she’s ‘yellow’ (or lello) not two. Fair enough. At the ripe old age of 37, her Mama was just happy to have a beer in the sunshine and to rest up with the bigglies and littlies in some warmth and a complete change of scene.  There were no jobs, no colds, no knitting (amazingly enough). Early starts and all that goes with life with two toddlers…

Let’s be honest – no more than anyone else, I’ve a tendency to rant and give out when things are pants but am maybe a little less likely to take a second to talk about nice things. That said I do love the idea of a good recommendation.  So, with that in mind, here’s a nice Irish business that I think deserves a mention. Made in Cork, Bia Beauty is a small Irish company specialising in natural beauty products that you can order via a lovely website. These came my way thanks to my lovely godson and his sister – perhaps with some…

I am many things but, most of all, I am a busy mama! With two kids in tow – a baby and a toddler, my days are a genuinely fun cycle of feeding, wiping things, playing truck / train / tractor games, saying ‘get that truck/train/tractor off your sister’s face/head/bum’ [delete as appropriate], picking up toys and searching for the missing things that have, most often, been stashed by my forgetful son, somewhere ‘safe’. At the end of my day I squeeze in conversation with my lovely husband and then turn my attention to one of the many projects I…
