On Thursday we did an afternoon of crafts. Today (Saturday) the table is still sticky, there’s glitter on the floor, but the fruits of our labour are proudly handing on the tree and on the playroom walls! Our Felt Christmas Trees featured in the beautiful Craft Advent hosted by Sadhbh over at Where Wishes Come From. While the glue and buttons of the felt trees stole the kid’s imaginations these twinkling lovelies are my absolute favourite.  Maybe I love them because fairy lights spark joy in my very soul or maybe it’s because these are the perfect mix of art and…

So last year I did a little mix of handmade and shop bought cards.  Left to my own devices for a few hours last weekend (admittedly on Saturday night while the hubby watched rugby and talked all sorts of crap with his friends) I managed to make our entire little stack of greetings and they are by now winging their way to various loved ones. Here’s a peek at our hand stamped Christmas cards… Little stamped snowflakes and some stamped bobbles were the order of the day and they turned out great – if I do say so myself. I love…

A busy crafter sometimes makes a bad blogger and I am seriously guilty on both counts! It’s been a mad run up to the holidays but I’m delighted to have nearly finished all the little projects I have started and to have two seconds to share some of the details here!  Most of these are homemade Christmas sweets and gifts -including cards, tags, fudge, toffees and mints. I just used plain white and blue organic cotton long sleeved tops from H&M which I’ve found have lasted really well with my two monsters. I made a simple tree on the white one with layers of fabric and a felt ‘trunk’. I used bondaweb on the backing so the edges shouldn’t fray.  I used a variety of stitches just to add some texture to the…

It seems every child we know has a birthday in the early Summer months!  I love birthdays and picking up pressies but it’s a bit of an expensive mine field trying to get everyone a little something special. I know myself the perils of a growing mountain of plastic on the toy shelves in our house so this year I tried my hand at personalising some t-shirts for little birthday buddies and they turned out pretty well. Here are my handstamped t-shirts. I had some Ikea cotton fabric with trucks and cars so I just ironed on some Wonderweb on…
