I got a mega treat last month when I was given a copy of the brand spanking new Book of Crafts from The Irish Countrywomen’s Association (ICA). As much as I love Pinterest and my collection of favourite crafty blogs, there’s something about a beautiful hardback craft book that I love. So last year I did a little mix of handmade and shop bought cards.  Left to my own devices for a few hours last weekend (admittedly on Saturday night while the hubby watched rugby and talked all sorts of crap with his friends) I managed to make our entire little stack of greetings and they are by now winging their way to various loved ones. One of my recent Pinterest sessions was all about cards and paper.  I found a lovely, simple idea by a Montessori teacher for making cards for her class with brightly coloured shapes, stitched onto plain cardstock. I was due to send out a mixed batch of ‘Thanks’, ‘Birthday’ and ‘Thinking of You’ cards so I happily took this lady’s idea and – using some nice handmade paper with gold threading through it, I used strong gold thread in my machine to stitch a little stack of cut out shapes onto the front.  Ideal for hearts, stars and any symmetrical shapes. Definitely a…

My first forray into stamping was fairly simple-adding names onto T-Shirts using Versacraft Ink and a simple letter set, but recently I’ve been making some nice cards and am delighted with the results.
