Our house has gone serious 1980’s.  We’ve skipped the red lemonade, Wham bars and leg warmers and cut straight to the TV shows of my youth. We’ve officially gone retro with Netflix. First off the kid’s programmes. Like looking back at most things, there’s quite the gap between the cool and futuristic programmes of my youth and the hilariously garish reality thirty (really?) years later. He-Man – still rocks that unisex bob and is fighting the good fight to keep Eternia and Greyskull safe from Skeletor and his gang of slightly inept henchmen.  He still has not only the power but also both…

My kids are nerds, being raised by nerds with a taste for all things nerdy. Their taste in music is no exception. Amidst the warbling of One Direction, Katy Perry and (gah) Justin Beiber their playlist also features Stevie Wonder and Kate Bush. They frequently lose it to Tina Turner’s Proud Mary and they were quite downbeat when David Bowie died. Literally people my work here is done.  You can understand so why I was chuffed at news that the latest Netflix offering – Beat Bugs, which launched in early August, and is loaded with hits but the very fabulous…

While himself has been away, I’ve been indulging in a whole host of Netflix programmes that he’d never partake in! Yay! I was on a bit of a documentary roll and gorged on the ever brilliant Louis Theroux back catalogue – with everything from alien hunting desert dwellers to religious zealots getting the quirky and charming Louis’ treatment. ‘Hot Girls Wanted’ may sound like I was really, really enjoying all this ‘lone time’ but I hate to burst any bubbles. It’s the well put together documentary by the very fabulous Rashida Jones on the amateur porn business in the States. Unsurprisingly it…

2015 was a fairly quiet year on the blog but only because it was an overwhelmingly manic year in all other respects! It’s nice to look back though – not least as it means I can also look forward to the clean slate that 2016 offers.  Joining in the linky hosted by that crafty minx Sadhbh over at Where Wishes Come From, here are my 15 from ’15. 1. Most Read Post In September I took a few days off to juggle the half days as my little people started their new school, Montessori and crèche. All week reports filled the news…

I have new crush. It’s funky, arty, original and from Belfast.   I am officially in love with all things ReFound. ReFound specialises in recycled, upcycled and industrial vintage everythings.  I’ve been mouching around their website – ReFound Online, and the place is amazing.  A mix between a gallery and a shop, ReFound sources classic, vintage and industrial style furniture and up-cycles and re-purposes pieces to produce one-off stylish furniture, lighting and accessories. As if they’re not cool enough, they also work with local artists and designers, to create one-of-a-kind functional artworks. The ReFound website is beautiful but equally I’ve promised myself…

This is a review of the Polisport Junior Guppy seat – suitable for children weighing between 22 and 35 kilo. I’ve also reviewed the Polisport Guppy Mini Baby Seat suitable for children up to 15 kilos / 33 lbs in weight which you can read here.  The step-up to three kids brought with it a new car, new house, no pelvic floor and less cycling. With two toddlers we’d trekked around with one kid on each bike strapped into rear mounted seats but as they  got taller it was trickier to wedge them into the kiddie seats.  Then with three bambinos the balance tipped – literally,…
